Homeopathic doctor hacked to death outside chamber in Natore
A homeopathic doctor was hacked to death by assailants in Natore’s Sadar upazila on Wednesday night (September 2), with his bloodied body later found lying on a road outside his chamber.
The victim was identified as Anarul Islam, 60, a resident of Dasmaria village in Kafuria union of Puthia upazila in Rajshahi.
He had been practising homeopathic medicine for years at his chamber in Chandpur Bazar, near the Natore-Rajshahi border.
Locals found Anarul lying critically injured on the paved road beside his chamber at around 8pm. He was rushed to Natore Modern Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Doctors said the victim had multiple injuries from sharp weapons on his head, chest, back and other parts of his body. He is believed to have died from severe blood loss and the injuries sustained in the attack.
The motive behind the killing and the identities of those involved were not immediately known.
Police from Natore Sadar Police Station visited the scene and launched an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible.
The victim’s family was preparing to file a case over the killing.
