Housewife’s throat-slit body recovered under bed in Kadamtali, husband missing

Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a housewife named Yanur, 25, from under a bed of a rented house in Kadamtali of the capital. No trace of her husband Jewel Rana has been found since the incident. Police are primarily assuming that the husband may have fled after killing the wife.

Kadamtali thana police recovered the body from a rented house in Diptir Gali of Kadamtali on Friday afternoon. Later it was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The deceased Yanur was the daughter of Hanif Howladar of Goabaria village under Galachipa Police Station of Patuakhali. She moved into that house in Kadamtali with her husband about three months ago.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Kadamtali Police Station Kamrunnahar informed citing the members of the deceased’s family that there was a family dispute between Yanur and her husband. Yanur’s mother and brother tried to contact her over mobile phone on Thursday night. However, not getting any response her brother went to the house on Friday morning and found the door locked.

Later not getting any sound from inside the house Yanur’s brother broke the door and entered. Seeing blood stains inside the room he started searching. At one stage he saw the throat-slit body of his sister lying under the bed. Getting the news police went to the spot and recovered the body.

Police informed that no trace of Yanur’s husband Jewel Rana has been found since the incident. The incident is being investigated keeping the matter of the family dispute in front. At the same time efforts are under way to find out Jewel Rana.
