HSC and equivalent exams to begin June 7

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for this year will begin on June 7, the Ministry of Education has announced.

The matter was confirmed on Monday, March 30. A meeting regarding the examinations was also held on the same day at the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the ministry.

The meeting discussed plans by education boards to hold the exams in the first half of June, as well as the possibility of conducting the exams with uniform question papers across all education boards in the country.

Earlier, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations are scheduled to begin on April 21. To ensure a fair, smooth and cheating-free environment for these exams, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued an 11-point directive for centre secretaries and other officials.

DSHE warned that any negligence or dereliction in following the directives would result in strict legal action against those responsible.
