HSC, equivalent exams under Chattogram Board suspended indefinitely
The Chattogram Education Board has suspended the ongoing 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations indefinitely due to the worsening post-flood situation across the region.
The decision was announced in a notice issued by the board on Thursday night (July 16), citing severe disruption caused by the recent floods.
Authorities said the move was taken after considering the overall conditions in the affected areas, the physical and mental well-being of examinees, and the significant difficulties in reaching examination centres because of damaged roads.
According to the notice, the decision was made in line with directives from the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. All remaining examinations under the Chattogram Board will remain postponed until further notice, with a revised schedule to be announced later.
In a separate statement, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said the suspension also applies to Alim examinations under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, as well as HSC (BM/BMT), Vocational and Diploma in Commerce examinations under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board in the Chattogram region.
Examinations in all other education boards across the country will continue as scheduled.
