HSC examinee stabbed by robbers in Green Road

A Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinee was seriously injured in a stabbing attack by robbers in the Green Road area of Dhaka early Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Rina Tripura, is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

According to family members, the incident occurred in the pre-dawn hours in Green Road area. Rina’s brother, Jewel Tripura, a student at Dhaka University, provided details about the attack. Rina is a student of Meherunnessa School and College and had taken her HSC exams last year. However, she failed the ICT subject and was scheduled to retake the exam on July 7.

On the day of the incident, Rina traveled by bus from her hometown to the Kolabagan area of Dhaka. From there, she took a rickshaw to return to the college dormitory. Near the dormitory, robbers intercepted her rickshaw, stabbed her, and snatched her valuables before fleeing the scene.

Following the attack, Rina was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Rina Tripura hails from Andromoni Para village in Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban district.

Inspector Md. Faruq, in charge of the police camp at the hospital, confirmed the stabbing. Md. Mobarak Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Tejgaon Police Station, said the police are investigating the case and have been in contact with the victim’s family. Authorities are also trying to pinpoint the exact location of the incident.

Md. Fazle Ashik, Officer-in-Charge of Kolabagan Police Station, added that law enforcement is working to determine jurisdiction and gather more details about the case. Police are closely monitoring the condition of the injured student as the investigation continues.
