HSC results to be announced by October 19
Over 1.25 million students who appeared for this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams are now awaiting their results. The written exams concluded on August 19, and the country’s education boards have confirmed that results will be published within 60 days, as required by the Public Examinations Act. Efforts are underway to prepare the results, which are expected by October 19.
According to the original schedule, the exams began on June 26 and were supposed to conclude on August 13. However, the postponement of several subject exams led to a revised timetable, causing a slight delay in completing the exams.
Professor S.M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Convener of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee and Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka Board, coordinates the preparation and publication of the results. He told the media, “We have not finalized the date for publishing HSC results. There has been no discussion with the Ministry or any other authority. The exams were postponed three times, which has delayed grading. However, we are making every effort to complete the process quickly.”
He added, “Evaluation of answer scripts is still ongoing. Once the papers reach the boards, results will be prepared and published. We hope to announce the results by October 19.”
This year, 1,251,111 students registered for the HSC and equivalent exams under the 11 education boards, including 618,015 male and 633,096 female students. Exams were held at 2,797 centers nationwide. Around 27,000 students were absent, leaving approximately 1.225 million students awaiting their results.
