Huawei wins eight GLOMO Awards at MWC Barcelona 2026

Huawei has secured eight Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026. Huawei Bangladesh shared this information in a press release sent to media on Sunday.

The awards received include Best Mobile Network Infrastructure, Best AI-Powered Network Solution, Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution, Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers, Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing, Best Fintech & Digital Commerce Innovation, Best Use of Mobile for Accessibility & Inclusion, and Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People.

The GSMA's GLOMO Awards are among the most prestigious accolades in the global mobile industry. The awards recognise organisations and individuals making significant contributions to mobile technology, innovative services and industry development. A panel of top industry experts selects the winners.

Best Mobile Network Infrastructure
Huawei has developed several innovative solutions featuring ultra-broadband, multi-antenna technology and energy-efficient systems that support 5G network development across all frequency bands. Using these, operators can create AI-powered, easily deployable mobile networks suitable for 5G evolution. These networks ensure high performance while consuming minimal energy.

Best AI-Powered Network Solution
Huawei and China Mobile have jointly developed solutions for "AI + Network" operational transformation. This helps address critical challenges in autonomous network operations including efficiency, growth and cost control.

Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution
China Telecom's satellite communication branch, in collaboration with Huawei, has developed technology enabling mobile phones to connect directly with Tiantong satellites. These technologies include ultra-short codes, high-gain convolutional channel coding and adaptive voice quantisation.

Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers
Indonesia's Telkomsel and Huawei won the GSMA GLOMO Award for Best Mobile Operator Service for Connected Consumers by providing quality customer experiences through the use of User Equipment Logo (indicating device quality).

Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing
The AI Health Assistant project, a joint initiative by China Mobile's 5G New Calling and Huawei, received the GSMA GLOMO Award for Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Health and Wellbeing.

Best Fintech & Digital Commerce Innovation
The Jid Wealth Platform, developed by Safaricom and Huawei, earned the GSMA GLOMO Award for Best Fintech & Digital Commerce Innovation. The two organisations have worked together for over a decade to advance Africa's mobile finance sector.

Best Use of Mobile for Accessibility & Inclusion
China Mobile and Huawei jointly developed the Mobile Health Assistant. Powered by China Mobile's 5G New Calling network and a Health AI Agent, this assistant provides integrated healthcare services.

Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People
The Qingjiao Plan has been implemented in Lancang County, Pu'er City, China, as a joint initiative by China Telecom, CSEF and Huawei. Using China Telecom's 5G network and Huawei Cloud Willink, it creates a virtual community connecting teachers and students in Lancang and Shanghai, while integrating 5G and Wi-Fi on campuses. The project has so far included numerous primary and secondary schools in Lancang, trained over 600 rural teachers, and benefited more than 5,000 students.
