Human remains recovered in search for missing Bangladeshi student Bristy
Police in the US state of Florida have recovered dismembered human remains while searching for missing Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Bristy in the Tampa Bay area.
Authorities said the remains were discovered in Pinellas County near the intersection of Interstate 275 and 4th Street North, on the St. Petersburg side of the Howard Frankland Bridge.
However, identification is yet to confirm whether the recovered body parts belong to Bristy.
The development comes days after the body of another Bangladeshi student, Jamil Limon, was recovered from the same vicinity. Investigators believe Bristy, 27, who was in a relationship with Limon, may also have been killed. Both went missing on the same day.
Police have arrested Limon’s roommate, Hisham Abugharbia, in connection with the case. He has been charged with the murder of both individuals.
According to court documents submitted on Sunday, the suspect had searched online for methods of disposing of a body days before the two students went missing.
