Human trafficker among 10 held on Sylhet border
Ten people, including a human trafficker, were detained while illegally entering Bangladesh through the Gowainghat border in Sylhet.
They were sent to jail through the court on Wednesday (May 20) afternoon.
Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Moniruzzaman confirmed this information.
He said that on Tuesday (May 19) night, members of the local Pratappur BOP of the BGB captured a total of nine people, including women and children, while illegally entering Bangladesh from India. At the same time, a member of the trafficking ring, Al Amin Ahmed, was also held on charges of helping them enter Bangladesh.
OC Moniruzzaman said that the detained people had gone to India at different times with the help of smugglers. The BGB captured them while they were returning home on Tuesday night.
