Husband-wife-child killed in road accident in Mithamoin

Three members of the same family were killed when a pickup van and a motorcycle collided head-on on the Mithamoin-Ashtagram Allweather Road in Kishoreganj. The deceased were a husband, wife, and their only child.

The accident occurred near Bhatshala Bridge in the upazila on Monday (May 25) evening.

The deceased were Monir Hossain, 35, his wife Munni Akhter, 30, and son Ayan, 6, of Mahisher Kandi village in Mithamoin Sadar Union.

According to police and local sources, Monir Hossain was returning home from Ashtagram on a motorcycle with his wife and child around 7:30pm. On the way, when they reached about 300 yards from Bhatshala Bridge, the motorcycle collided head-on with a pickup van coming from the opposite direction. Three people died on the spot.

When the pickup driver tried to flee after the accident, police arrested him along with the vehicle from the Ashtagram area.

Mithamain Police Station OC Liaqat Ali said legal action is underway in the incident.
