Regarding the situation of government hospitals in his parliamentary constituency, Md. Amir Hamza, MP from Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency, said, 'There are some written complaints about the medical and sadar (hospitals). I have informed these to the sadar (Kushtia General Hospital), and given time, they need to be changed. They first admitted their mistake and even apologized. In fact, it (Kushtia General Hospital authorities) was beyond our control and the boss is at fault. I said, there is no one in Kushtia who is the boss, I am the boss now. So whatever happens, let me know if anything happens.'

He made this comment while talking to reporters after the Kushtia Medical College Hospital Management Committee meeting last Thursday afternoon.

A journalist asked him at the meeting, 'When you come to the medical, doctors are not available properly. But when they see you in private clinics, they see you until 11pm. How do you view this matter?' In response, the Jamaat MP said, 'There is talk of brokers and various spirit money and there are some other hands - some have secretly told about these hands. I have directly told you, if someone number two wants to do it, directly tell him that money has been given to Maulana or has been told about this, you go to him. Who is running with so much power in Kushtia, I will see.'

Regarding the future plans of Kushtia Medical College Hospital, he said, 'Our emotional place is Kushtia Medical College and Hospital. We want to reopen it. Some departments are running, there was actually a meeting today (yesterday) about it so that it can be fully started. We talked for two to two and a half hours. We have already decided on some issues. Please pray that you will hear at least one good news in the next few days, which you will be happy to hear.'

When his statement spread on social media and Facebook pages of various media outlets that night, it created widespread discussion and criticism.

In the situation, Amir Hamza wrote on his verified Facebook page at around 5am on Friday, 'Dear countrymen, and my supporters of all classes - I humbly request you, do not set an example by going to all the places where media trials are going on about me or harsh words are being spoken about me. Either you explain it nicely, or you keep silent and avoid it. But in no case do you hear any harsh words on my behalf. Another believer should be protected from the mouth of a believer - this is what we want. And Allah is sufficient for the news that various media twist against me, and for those who speak harsh words about me. I am not at all upset about these. Surely, truth will triumph over lies.'
