I was abducted with the intention of killing: Salahuddin Ahmed
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the Sheikh Hasina government abducted him with the intention of killing him.
He further said that even though the attempt, he has returned for the prayers of the people and the glory of Allah. He expressed gratitude for being able to speak in front of the people of the area in a free environment after almost 14 years.
He made the comments while participating in an election rally in Pekua, his constituency in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday (December 3).
Salahuddin said:"Allah has kept me alive because I had longevity. With your prayers, democracy has triumphed, fascists have fallen. The Awami Baksali group has been forced to flee the country."
He called for maintaining democratic behavior without getting involved in anger or revenge.
Calling for voting for the symbol of democracy, the paddy sheaf, Salahuddin expressed gratitude to the people for making his wife Advocate Hasina Ahmed win by a huge margin in his absence.
Earlier, he participated in a rally at Toitong Bazar after holding public relations at Shilkhali School Station, Kacharimura Station, Barbakia Bazar, Dhaniakata Station in Toitong and Bonkanon Bazar since morning. He addressed a rally at Sabuj Bazar at the end of the day.
His wife and former MP Advocate Hasina Ahmed, Upazila BNP President and Sadar UP Chairman M. Bahadur Shah, General Secretary Iqbal Hossain, Organizing Secretary ZM Moslem Uddin and leaders and activists of BNP and allied organizations were present at the time.
