The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has postponed the submission date for the probe report in a case of crimes against humanity and genocide related to the events in the Jatrabari area during the mass uprising, setting the new deadline for April 6.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order allowing a time plea filed by the prosecution.

Earlier, today was set as the deadline for submitting the probe report in the case ICT BD 5/2024, after the prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud requested a two-month extension for submission.

"Allowing our plea, the tribunal set April 6 for the report," he said.

Two of the six accused, former Jatrabari Police Station OC Abul Hossain and former assistant commissioner Tanjil Ahmed, were presented in court for today's hearing.

Meanwhile, the ICT also allowed two separate pleas filed by prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim regarding seizure of different documents.
