If administration does not take action, I will not participate in the unfair poll: Nur

Patuakhali-3 (Golachipa, Dashmina) parliamentary constituency MP candidate and President of the Goni Odhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur said that a mass movement has started in all directions regarding the poll. The mechanism that is being used today to prevent our victory is to spread fear among the people by using this administration. "If the administration does not take action for these, then I will not go for the rigged elections."

He told this to the journalists while visiting Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Dr. Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury to inform him about the security he received.

He also said, 'The houses of my activists and supporters are being burned. Women are being tortured. The allegations that have been made against the accused have not significantly resolved a single complaint.'

He said, 'This election is a much-awaited election. This election must be held in Bangladesh and it must be a free, fair and impartial one. If anyone plays a loose, questionable role in that election, gives the opportunity to make the election controversial or wants to sabotage the election, then those in the administration will have to take responsibility.’

‘Of course, action must be taken against the criminals before the election. If action is not taken, we will also stand against the administration playing a controversial role. We may also have to protest,' he added.
