Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer for the northern region of the newly formed political party, National Citizens' Party (NCP), said that if larger political parties do not allow smaller ones to progress, they will gradually turn into dictatorships.

On Friday (February 28), the new party was officially launched with the initiative of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee. He made these comments while attending the event.

Sarjis Alam stated, "I urge political parties to let us fulfill the dream we had after Sheikh Hasina fled on August 5. If there is mutual respect among political parties, the country will be exceptional. Hasina has turned the police into murderers. We hope they will restore their honor through their work."

Sarjis Alam continued, "Government officials should not take bribes from the public. Institutional reforms must be carried out collectively by all political parties. Only the qualified should hold those positions, not my men."

He also said, "We should not go to the police station or the judge’s office with recommendations on behalf of criminals. The trial of murderer Hasina must be done collectively."
