If BNP comes to power, safe childbirth will be ensured in upazilas: Dr. Zubaida Rahman

If the people of the country vote for BNP and bring it to power, a women-friendly government will be established, said Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of party chairman Tarique Rahman.

She said that if BNP comes to power, arrangements will be made for safe childbirth in every upazila. Attention will be paid to maternal and child health care.

She also said that six months of paid maternity leave will be ensured for working women.

She made the promises during an exchange of views with women representatives of Gulshan Banani Baridhara Society at Gulshan Lake Park on Sunday (February 8). Arafat Rahman Coco's wife Sharmila Rahman and Tarique Rahman's daughter Zaima Rahman were also present at the time.

Zubaida Rahman said that if BNP is voted to power, a women's support cell will be established where women will be provided financial and other assistance. At this time, the parental maintenance law will also be effectively implemented.

She also assured that free education up to postgraduate level will be expanded for female students as part of ensuring women's education and to stop child marriage.
