The Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, stated that an extremist group killed a lawyer at the Chattogram court to destabilize Bangladesh. They intended to turn the country into a burning crematorium. He made this statement on Monday (December 2) morning at a 'Union Responsible Leaders' gathering in Jhalokathi.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The responsible Muslims of this country did not fall into the trap set by this extremist group. We have been patient and have calmed the people of the country. Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians will live together in peace in this country. No religious places of worship will need to be guarded. We want a Bangladesh where no one will be humiliated in courts, offices, or anywhere else."

He added, "We want a country where farmers will get a fair price for their crops and workers will get their wages for their hard work. When Jamaat comes to power, no one will have to beg for their rights. Everyone will receive their rights with dignity."

Regarding the July Revolution, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "Abu Sayeed was the main icon and commander of our Liberation War. He demanded his rights, but he was shot dead. We salute him."

At the event, chaired by Advocate Hafizur Rahman, the district Jamaat Ameer, speeches were also given by central executive member of Jamaat-e-Islami, Mobarak Hossain, and Jamaat leader Masud Sayeedi.
