BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has urged individuals seeking personal financial gain to quit the party, emphasizing that politics demands sacrifice, respect, and service, not monetary benefit.

“Politics cannot be a means to fill one’s pockets. Anyone interested in doing so must part ways with BNP, as Tarique Rahman enforces strict discipline,” said Anee in his inaugural speech at the biennial conference of the Kamalnagar Upazila BNP held Sunday.

The event took place at the field adjacent to the Hajirhat Union Parishad office in the Upazila headquarters of Kamalnagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury revealed that Tarique Rahman is expected to return to Bangladesh in October or November. “Before his arrival, he is devising plans to strengthen the country, curb corruption, and ensure public safety. We eagerly await his return and hope to see him by mid-November,” he added.

The conference was presided over by Kamalnagar Upazila BNP convener Golam Kader. Key participants included BNP Chattogram divisional organizational secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim as chief guest, and ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan, BNP’s co-secretary for Industry and Commerce and former MP, as the main speaker.

Other notable attendees were BNP Chattogram divisional co-organizational secretary Harunur Rashid, district BNP member secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu, joint convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman Hasib, district president of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum Hafizur Rahman, vice president of BAFUF Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, BNP leader Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan, and district labor party president Abul Hashem.

In the second session of the conference, based on councilors’ recommendations, an interim committee was formed for Kamalnagar Upazila BNP. Nurul Huda Chowdhury was appointed president, Golam Kader senior vice president, and M. Didar Hossain member secretary.
