The government will allow the import of LNG, fertliser, soybean oil, sugar and chickpea to meet the local demands. Advisors Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) in a meeting, with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Admed in the chair, approved a number of procurement proposals in this regard. After the meeting, Dr Salehuddin Ahmed told reporters that the government will not allow any shortage of essential commodities, reports UNB. "We have approved proposals to import four products so that there should not be any of their shortage in the market,” he said. All these products are very important for the consumers, he said adding the government approved import of chickpea targeting next Ramadan. Soon, the government will move to import of dates for the same reason, he added.

স্থানীয় চাহিদা মেটাতে এলএনজি, সার, সয়াবিন তেল, চিনি ও ছোলা আমদানির কয়েকটি প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দিয়েছে অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার। বুধবার (৩০ অক্টোবর) সরকারি ক্রয় বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা পরিষদ কমিটির (এসিসিজিপি) সভায় এ সংক্রান্ত বেশ কয়েকটি ক্রয় প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দেয়া হয়। সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন অর্থ উপদেষ্টা ড. সালেহউদ্দিন আহমেদ। বৈঠক শেষে অর্থ উপদেষ্টা সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় পণ্যের কোনো ঘাটতি হতে দেবে না অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার। সালেহউদ্দিন আহমেদ বলেন, 'বাজারে যাতে কোনো ঘাটতি না থাকে সেজন্য আমরা চারটি পণ্য আমদানির প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দিয়েছি।’ অর্থ উপদেষ্টা বলেন, আগামী রমজানকে সামনে রেখে ছোলা আমদানির অনুমোদন দিয়েছে সরকার। শিগগিরই সরকার একই কারণে খেজুর আমদানির দিকে যাবে। তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘আর্থিক সীমাবদ্ধতা সত্ত্বেও আমরা চেষ্টা করব এসব নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় পণ্যের পর্যাপ্ত সরবরাহ নিশ্চিত করতে, যাতে মানুষের ভোগান্তি না হয়।’ সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে, বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের তিনটি ও শিল্প মন্ত্রণালয়ের দুটি প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দিয়েছে সরকারি ক্রয় সংক্রান্ত উপদেষ্টা কমিটি।
