Import-export activities between India and Bangladesh through the Hili land port in Dinajpur will remain suspended for seven days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. However, passport-holder passenger movement through the immigration checkpoint will remain normal, authorities said.

Shahinur Islam, general secretary of Hili Customs C&F Agent Association, said on Saturday, May 23, that C&F agent activities at the port would remain closed from May 25 to May 31 to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha properly. All import-export activities between India and Bangladesh through the port will remain suspended during this period.

He said all importers, exporters and concerned parties, including Indian exporters, have been informed of the matter through letters.

Meanwhile, Hili Immigration Checkpoint Officer-in-Charge Ariful Islam said that while import-export activities will remain closed, the immigration checkpoint will remain operational.

Passport-holder passengers will be able to travel between the two countries through the Hili immigration checkpoint daily from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, he said.
