Imran Haider appointed Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Dhaka

Imran Haider has been appointed as the new High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh. He is currently serving as Pakistan’s ambassador to Myanmar and will soon begin his duties in Dhaka.

The Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka announced on Tuesday (June 17) that the current High Commissioner, Syed Ahmed Maroof, has completed his diplomatic term and returned to Pakistan. Imran Haider will succeed him.

The government of Pakistan has recently approved multiple new diplomatic appointments, including positions in Bangladesh and other countries. In this reshuffle, Atiya Iqbal has been named Deputy Ambassador to Qatar, Roman Wazir as Deputy Ambassador to Germany, and Hasnain Yusuf will serve as Chargé d’Affaires in Syria.

According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan aims to strengthen and make its diplomatic missions more active through these new appointments.
