Independence Day Parade open for public
A military parade and aerial fly-past will be held at the National Parade Square at 9:00am on March 26 as part of celebrations marking the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will attend the event.
The programme will feature parade contingents from the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force and other units of the armed forces.
The fly-past will showcase different types of helicopters and fighter aircraft, demonstrating the operational capabilities of the armed forces.
The event will be open to the public. Visitors will be allowed to enter through gates 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 of the parade square. Organizers have requested attendees not to carry bags for security reasons.
Authorities said spectators can arrive from early morning to enjoy the programme, which is expected to offer a memorable experience for students, families and tourists. Police and private security teams will be deployed to ensure safety during the event.
At the end of the programme, the president and the prime minister are expected to extend Independence Day greetings to the nation.
