India’s Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said that during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ the Indian Air Force shot down a total of six Pakistani aircraft, including five fighter jets and one large plane.

He made this claim on Saturday at an event in Bengaluru, reports Reuters.

He said, “In addition to destroying these planes in the air battle, attacks were also carried out on Pakistan’s Jacobabad and Vholari airbases. The S-400 defense system, purchased from Russia, prevented Pakistani aircraft from entering Indian airspace.”

“The political leadership gave the forces complete freedom, which was the main reason for our success. Understanding the damage of the conflict, Pakistan sought a ceasefire, and the conflict ended on May 10,” AP Singh added.

There was no immediate response from the Pakistani military regarding the Indian Air Chief’s remarks.

He did not specify the types of Pakistani aircraft that were shot down.
