No matter which government comes to power in West Bengal, Bangladesh's foreign policy will not change, said Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed.

She said this while talking to the media after a working session of the DC conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday afternoon (May 5).

Responding to a question about the formation of the new government in West Bengal, the State Minister said that the Indian elections are the country's internal matter. In this regard, Bangladesh's foreign policy will remain the same across the board.

Mentioning the basic foundation of foreign policy, she further said that our foreign policy is based on our 'Bangladesh First' policy. No matter which government comes to power, our foreign policy will not change. We will move forward with our foreign policy based on discussions with everyone.

It is worth noting that the voting for the West Bengal assembly elections was held in two phases on April 23 and 29. The country's Election Commission announced the election results on Monday (May 4). According to the declared results, BJP candidates have won 206 out of the 294 seats in the West Bengal Assembly.
