India must engage directly with Bangladeshi people: Asif Mahmud
Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan stated that India must now engage in negotiations with the people of Bangladesh.
He made this remark as the chief guest at the anti-discrimination student movement discussion held at Cumilla Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon ( September 10).
Asif said, "India has been negotiating with the Awami League for too long. Now, it’s time for them to engage with the people of this country. This government will implement the foreign policy decisions made by the people."
"We want to know the people’s vision for shaping the country in future. Bangladesh’s future will be based on this vision. We are committed to implementing it and will work in the cabinet to carry out your plan," he added.
Among those present were anti-discrimination student movement coordinators Abdul Kader, Abu Baker Majumder, Sumaiya Akhtar, Hamza Mahbub, Zia Uddin Ayan, Ali Ahmed Araf, Abu Raihan and others.
