India to continue work closely with interim govt: Pranay Verma
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma said that he will continue to work closely with the interim government to advance multilateral relations with Bangladesh.
He said this while briefing the media after a meeting with Foreign Secretary Jasim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday afternoon.
After the meeting with, he told reporters, "As I have said before, we are closely involved with the Bangladesh government for the common desire of the people of both countries which is peace, security and development.
"We will continue to take forward the relationship in multifaceted areas in which we are engaged. This is a very important relationship for us. We are looking forward to take it forward in the upcoming days,” he added.
Pranay Verma said that apart from the courtesy meeting with the new foreign secretary, a wide range of discussions were also held.
However, he avoided the question about the incident of Bangladeshi killed in firing by Indian Border Guard Force BSF.
