India to lose from breakdown in ties, not Bangladesh: Sakhawat
Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Shipping Ministry, stated that he believes a breakdown in the current India-Bangladesh relations would harm India, not Bangladesh.
He made this statement while answering questions from journalists during his visit to the ongoing multipurpose project of BIWTA in Narayanganj on Tuesday (December 3).
Sakhawat Hossain said, "If India continues to take hostile actions against the people of Bangladesh, it’s not a good sign for a neighboring country. The relationship between the two nations should remain strong. If Bangladesh becomes unstable, India will also not be able to live peacefully."
"If India attempts to create communal instability in Bangladesh, it will also affect their own peace. Bangladesh has a population of 180 million. Some Indian media and political parties are doing this to gain votes, but that’s their concern," he added.
