India wants to see democracy in Bangladesh through elections: Vikram Mishri
India wants to see inclusive democratic system in Bangladesh through elections, said the country's Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri.
He said this at a special press conference on Friday (April 4) on the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangkok.
Sources in the meeting said that when the Indian Prime Minister told Dr Yunus about the peaceful, inclusive and democratic system in Bangladesh, the chief adviser told the Indian PM that elections will be held by December this year with the necessary reforms.
Sources said the CA told the Indian PM that if some more reforms are needed, then the remaining reforms will be completed and the elections will be held by June next year.
The meeting discussed Sheikh Hasina's extradition, but India did not give a specific response. However, India took note of the issue.
