The Indian High Commission in Dhaka organised a two-day special musical evening on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh and Bengali New Year. The event, titled 'Badhon Ache Prane Prane: Of Harmony Within', was held at the IGCC premises on April 17 and 18.

The event featured renowned Bangladeshi Rabindra Sangeet artiste Aditi Mohsin and acclaimed Indian artiste Srikanta Acharya. Through their performances, artistes from both countries highlighted the shared bond of cultural heritage, music and festivals between India and Bangladesh.

The event was organised through a public-private partnership with HSBC Bangladesh, aiming to promote tradition and creativity.

High Commissioner Pranay Verma said the cultural relationship between India and Bangladesh is older and deeper than national borders. He described the participation of renowned artistes from both countries on the same stage as a strong symbol of cultural bonding, mutual trust, respect and understanding between the peoples of the two nations.

Senior government officials of Bangladesh, as well as representatives from business, media, education and cultural sectors, were present at the event.
