Indian High Commission warns Bangladeshis against visa scams

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has urged Bangladeshi visa applicants to beware of fraudsters and unauthorised agents offering guaranteed visas, faster processing and confirmed appointment slots.

The warning was issued in a post on the High Commission’s verified Facebook page on Thursday night (September 3).

The mission said fraudsters often lure applicants with promises of “guaranteed visas”, “quick processing” and “confirmed appointment slots”. Relying on such promises and making payments to unauthorised intermediaries could result in financial losses, as well as the loss of important documents, application time and visa opportunities.

Applicants have been advised not to give money, visa-related documents or personal information to unauthorised agents or individuals, as doing so could compromise both their security and the visa application process.

The High Commission also urged applicants seeking Indian transit visas to apply directly through the designated official visa process.

It advised all applicants to avoid intermediaries making unauthorised promises and to follow only the official procedures for visa-related services.
