Indian High Commissioner meets Tarique Rahman

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma held a meeting with BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman.

The meeting took place on Saturday, January 10, in the afternoon at the BNP’s Gulshan office, where the Indian high commissioner met the party’s newly appointed chairperson.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, among others, were present at the meeting.

However, BNP has not officially disclosed the issues discussed during the meeting.

Later, Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman also met BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman. Alongside exchanging greetings, he held a brief meeting with him.

Meanwhile, Member of the European Parliament and chief observer of the EU Election Observation Mission Dr Ewers Ijabs also paid a courtesy call on BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman.

After a meeting that lasted for about an hour, the European Union election observer team left the office shortly before 4pm.
