Indian police hands over BCL leader Panna's body
India's Meghalaya Police has handed over the body of Ishaq Ali Khan Panna, former General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and executive committee member of Pirojpur district Awami League, to Bangladesh authorities.
The body was sent back through Sylhet's Tamabil Immigration Checkpost around 11:30am on Saturday (August 31). Panna's nephew Nabil Khan received the body.
Earlier, following the request of his relatives, the foreign ministry requested the Indian government to send Panna's body to Bangladesh. After various procedures, Meghalaya Police handed over the body to Tamabil Police today. The family members of Panna were present during the handing over of the body.
mentionable, Panna reportedly lost his life while fleeing to India through the Dona border at Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet on August 24 night. On August 26, India's Umkiang thana police recovered the half-decomposed body of Panna inside India.
