India's comment on Bangladesh election uncalled for: Foreign Ministry

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Rafiqul Alam has said that India's comment on Bangladesh election is uncalled for.

“Elections are an internal matter of Bangladesh. India's comments on Bangladesh elections are uncalled for,” he said at a briefing on various contemporary issues at the foreign ministry on Thursday (March 13).

Rafiqul Alam said despite no response from India regarding the extradition of Sheikh Hasina, the distribution of Ganga water is going smoothly.

The spokesperson of the foreign ministry also said that all measures are being taken to stop the ongoing killings on the Indo-Bangla border.

He said the government is giving the Rohingya problem the utmost importance. Discussions are underway with the United Nations regarding the return of the Rohingya. It is hoped that this problem will be resolved very soon.

Bangladesh believes that the visit of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will play a role in resolving the Rohingya crisis, he added.
