Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain said that the decision of whether or not to issue visas lies within India’s sovereign right, and it cannot be questioned by anyone.

He made these comments in response to questions from journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (March 4).

When asked about the resumption of Indian visas, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain stated, "We have not created any issues regarding visas. India has suspended visa issuance for its own reasons. It is their sovereign right to decide whether or not to issue visas. No questions can be raised if a country or group is denied a visa. It is entirely their decision. We hope India will clarify their stance or take necessary actions to ensure that individuals who wish to travel to India can obtain a visa."

In an interview with BBC Bangla, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus stated that Bangladesh's relationship with India is good. In response to this, Touhid Hossain remarked, "What the Chief Adviser said represents our position. I have consistently emphasized that we seek a strong working relationship based on mutual respect. This is reflected in the Chief Adviser's statement. From the beginning, we have maintained a clear stance, and this is its manifestation. Beyond this, both sides have their own interests, and how those interests are managed will determine the future of the relationship."
