Injured return to hospital from road with assurance of advisers
People who were injured in July movement and protesting in front of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), or Pangu Hospital, in the capital, demanding the resignation of Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum, have returned to the hospital.
Law Adviser Professor Dr Asif Nazrul, Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser Mahfuz Alam and Chief Adviser Special Assistant Professor Md Sayedur Rahman came in front of Pangu Hospital at 3am on Thursdday. The injured agreed to return to the hospital from the road after about 13 and a half hours with the assurance of meeting their demands.
About 50 people undergoing treatment at Pangu Hospital and the nearby National Institute of Ophthalmology located in Agargaon area of the capital were protesting on the road in front of the hospital from 1pm on Wednesday. Some of these people have no legs, some were in wheelchairs, some have bandages on their eyes. At one point they raised slogans demanding the resignation of the health adviser. Later, they put the condition that they would return to hospital if advisers come to the spot.
