Injured youth killed inside hospital in row over Swechchhasebak Dal leader murder

Two youths including a Swechchhasebak Dal leader have been killed in a conflict between two groups over establishing supremacy in Bogura.

Swechchhasebak Dal leader Mizanur Rahman Mizan was hacked to death in Gokul area of Bogura town.

Later, miscreants beat another youth Salman Hussain Lado to death entering the emergency department of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH) around 11:30pm on Monday (September 9).

Earlier, Lado was seriously injured in a clash between the two factions of Swechchhasebak Dal. Later, he was rushed to SZMCH in a police car. No sooner had he been taken to the emergency department, hundreds of activists of another faction of Swechchhasebak Dal attacked him again entering the hospital and beat him to death.

Law enforcement personnel were present at the scene but remained silent. Meanwhile, journalists were also beaten up by the miscreants of Swechchhasebak Dal. However, the policemen present at the scene are not willing to give any statement to the media.

Witnesses said the doctors did not get any chance to treat him. After the situation normalised, Lado's body was taken to the hospital morgue.

Lado was a resident of Gokul area in Bogura town. District BNP General Secretary Ali Azgar Talukder was present at SZMCH premises during the attack.

Earlier on the same day around 9:00pm, a Swechchhasebak Dal leader named Mizanur Rahman Mizan was hacked to death with a sharp weapon in Gokul area of Bogra Sadar.

The deceased Mizan was the convenor of Bogura Sadar upazila Swechchhasebak Dal. He is the son of Afsar Ali of Gokul area.

sources said he was killed due to prior enmity over establishing supremacy in the area.

Sources from BNP and Swechchhasebak Dal said Bipul, the expelled leader of Jubo Dal Gokul union unit. his supporters came on five motorcycles and attacked and killed Mizan. The deceased Lado was a supporter of Bipul and a relative of Bipul. Lado was caught red handed by the activists of the other group while trying to flee the scene after killing Mizan. At that time, Lado was beaten and seriously injured.
