Inqilab Mancha calls all-party protest rally over Hadi attack
Inqilab Mancha has announced an all-party protest rally in response to the attack on its spokesperson, Sharif Osman Hadi.
Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Mancha, announced the programme at an emergency press conference held in front of Evercare Hospital on Sunday night (December 14).
He said the rally would be held on Monday at the Central Shaheed Minar, bringing together anti-fascist and nationalist political parties. He added that no “India-aligned” groups have been invited to the programme.
At the press conference, Jaber also said arrangements had been made to send Osman Hadi abroad for advanced medical treatment by hiring an air ambulance. He claimed that nearly Tk 5 million had been borrowed jointly by party activists and Hadi’s family to fund the arrangement, and that no assistance had so far been received from the government.
According to doctors, he said, Hadi can be taken abroad if the family or the state makes the necessary arrangements.
Several political parties, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP), are expected to join the all-party protest rally at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Earlier on Saturday, BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and NCP had jointly decided to hold protest programmes over the attack on Osman Hadi.
