Instructions for travel agencies and passengers

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has issued new instructions for travel agencies and passengers regarding the situation in the Middle East.

The new instructions were issued through an office order signed by Mirza Murad Hasan Beg, Deputy Secretary, Tourism-3 Branch of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Monday.

The ministry's instructions state that in view of the current situation in the Middle East, there is a possibility of flight schedules from Bangladesh being changed, delayed or canceled. In this context, the following instructions have been issued for travel agencies and air passengers in order to ensure passenger services and integrated management-

Instructions for travel agencies:

1. Passengers must be provided with accurate and updated information by keeping in constant contact with the concerned airline.

2. To avoid unnecessary confusion among passengers, no information can be disseminated without verification.

3. Prompt assistance should be ensured in matters related to re-issue, revalidation, refund.

4. Passengers should be provided with contact information of the concerned embassy in case of visa or Iqama related problems.

5. Passengers should be provided with assistance from a humanitarian perspective without imposing additional charges.

6. If necessary, 24/7 emergency contact numbers should be kept operational.

7. Coordination should be maintained with the embassy and relevant government agencies.

Special request to passengers:

1. Be patient and take decisions based on verified information.

2. Keep in touch with the airline concerned or travel agent for the latest travel related information.

3. Contact the embassy of the country concerned immediately in case of visa or Iqama related problems.

Travel agencies and passengers have been requested to take necessary measures to widely disseminate and comply with these instructions.
