Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus has taken oath as the chief advisor of the interim government at Bangabhaban in the capital at 9 pm on Thursday (August 8). All the other advisers of the interim government also took oath. President Md Sahabuddin administered the oath taking ceremony. Notable, former PM Sheikh Hasina fled the country submitting her resignation letter to the President on August 5 in the face of student movement. After her departure, the decision to form an interim government was made.

অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের প্রধান উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে শপথ নিলেন নোবেলজয়ী ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস।&nbsp; বৃহস্পতিবার (৮ অগাষ্ট) রাত ৯টায় বঙ্গভবনে প্রথমে ড. ইউনূসকে শপথ বাক্য পাঠ করান রাষ্ট্রপতি মোঃ সাহাবুদ্দিন। পরে বাকী উপদেষ্টাদের শপথ পাঠ করান তিনি।&nbsp;যদিও এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন না তিন উপদেষ্টা। তারা হলেন- ফারুক-ই-আজম (বীর প্রতীক), সুপ্রদীপ চাকমা, বিধান রঞ্জন রায়। এদিকে শপথ শুরুর আগে ছাত্র-জনতার অভ্যুত্থানে শহীদদের স্মরণে বঙ্গভবনে উপস্থিত সবাই এক মিনিট নীরবতা পালন করেন। উল্লেখ্য, ছাত্র-জনতার আন্দোলনের মুখে গত ৫ অগাষ্ট রাষ্ট্রপতির কাছে পদত্যাগপত্র জমা দিয়ে দেশ ছাড়েন শেখ হাসিনা। তিনি যাওয়ার পরে ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসকে প্রধান করে অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকার গঠনের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়।
