Interim govt corruption allegations will be investigated: Dr. Zahed
The Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Ministry Affairs Advisor Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman said that the corruption allegations against the interim government will be investigated. He made this statement at a press conference held at the Information Department conference room at the Secretariat on Tuesday (April 7).
The advisor said that corruption allegations have been made in various ministries and the current government will definitely investigate them. If the Anti-Corruption Commission is reconstituted, these works will start through them. Not only past corruption, but also whether any irregularities are happening during the current government will be investigated.
Regarding auto-rickshaw control, the advisor said that it is not only a matter of electricity consumption, but also related to road safety. Vehicles plying in alleyways are now plying on main roads, which is increasing the risk. The government is working seriously on irregular drivers and defective vehicles.
Regarding the banking sector, Zahed Ur Rahman said that the work of restructuring the banking sector, which became weak during the previous government's tenure, has already started. However, as this sector is very sensitive, sudden major changes can create a crisis of confidence. Therefore, reforms are being taken forward slowly and in a planned manner. He also said that exemplary action will be taken against wilful defaulters.
