International Accounting Day observed at Pundra University

The first Private University in North Bengal, Pundra University of Science and Technology, celebrated International Accounting Day for the first time on Monday.

To celebrate the day, the university's teachers, officials and students took out a rally on the campus. The rally started in front of the new academic building and ended in front of the new academic building after circumambulating the campus.


The rally was attended by the university's Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Chittaranjan Mishra, Treasurer Professor Md. Sujan Shah-e-Fazlul, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Ahsan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Dr. Ahmed Sharif Talukder, Registrar Dr. S. J. Anwar Zahid, Director (Finance) Md. Afsar Ali FCMA, Head of the Department of Business Administration Ali Hasan, etc.

At the end of the rally, the Vice-Chancellor said in his speech, ‘531 years ago, the accounting formula of Luca de Pacioli is equally applied and prevalent in the business world."

Treasurer Professor Md. Sujan Shah-e-Fazlul said: "In the era of technology, it is necessary to take the lessons and application of accounting forward by taking up the challenge with AI."

Md. Afsar Ali FCMA said that by observing the day, Pundra University has become a partner.

International Accounting Day is celebrated with dignity and solemnity every year on November 10th worldwide to pay tribute to the father of accounting Luca Pacioli (c. 1447–1517), an Italian mathematician, a Franciscan friar, and a collaborator of Leonardo da Vinci.
