The country’s internet connection will remain comparatively slow from 6am to 6pm on Saturday (July 13) due to maintenance work of the country’s first submarine cable (SEA-ME-WE 4) in Cox’s Bazar, says a press release.

According to the Bangladesh Submarine Cables Company (BSCC) release sent to media on Friday (July 12) afternoon, the circuits connected through the cable will be partially closed for about 12 hours for maintenance work undertaken by the consortium at the Singapore end of the submarine cable. Because of this uninterrupted internet service may be disrupted in different parts of the country.

However, circuits connected through the country's second submarine (SEA-ME-WE 5) cable installed at Kuakata will continue to operate as usual.
