Is fuel not being spent in opposition’s long march or road march, Anee’s question

Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, Water Resources Minister and joint secretary general of BNP, has raised questions about the opposition’s long march and road march. He said, is fuel not being spent in these programmes, is there no harm to general people on the roads or traffic jam and do not sick patients have to suffer?

He said these words as the chief guest at a specialized free medical camp, eye camp and medicine distribution programme organized at the premises of Zillur Rahim College in Mandari area of Chandraganj upazila in Lakshmipur at noon on Saturday (September 19). District Doctors Association of Bangladesh and Lions International District 315 A-3 jointly organized this programme.

Annie said, the long march or road march that the opposition is doing, is fuel not being spent there? Is there no harm to people on the roads? Is traffic jam not being created in people’s movement? Do not sick patients have to suffer? Then has the opposition done any good work?

He said although the opposition talks about cooperating with the government in parliament, their programmes outside do not match that statement. If the example of cooperating with the government is of this type, is this cooperation?

Drawing the context of the opposition’s movement the Water Resources Minister further said the opposition has been non-cooperating with the government in various ways from the first day. Taking the opportunity of this non-cooperation some people want to become active in the coming December. Such opportunity would not have been created if there was no long march.

Annie further said we had to fight and struggle for 17 years for August 5. August 5 did not come suddenly. In the continuity of the situation that was created through the movement of students, youth and young men and women the election was held on February 12 and after that election we got the responsibility of the country.

Joint convenor of district BNP Hasibur Rahman, Noakhali district civil surgeon Dr Anwar Hossain, Chandraganj upazila nirbahi officer Nilufa Yasmin Nipa and Chandraganj upazila BNP president Belal Hossain and people from various local levels were present at the programme.
