The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), the financial intelligence agency of the central bank, has summoned the bank account details of Islami Bank’s current chairman, Obayed Ullah Al Masud, and five members of his family.

The BFIU issued a letter to all banks on Monday (July 14), requesting the information.

The letter directed all banks to submit details of any accounts held in the names of Obaid Ullah Al Masud, his family members, or any related individuals. This includes account opening forms and the latest account statements. Additionally, banks must provide information on savings certificates, bonds, lockers, credit cards, student files, prepaid cards, gift cards, and any transaction vouchers amounting to BDT 5 lakh or more. The information must be sent to the BFIU by July 15.
