The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has issued a warning about fraudulent activities involving the misuse of Defence Secretary Md. Ashraf Uddin’s photo and official identity. According to the ISPR statement issued on Friday, recent reports indicate that some dishonest individuals and self-interested groups have been using the Defence Secretary’s image and credentials through multiple mobile numbers, including 01881747343, and WhatsApp accounts to demand unethical benefits from individuals and organizations. The ISPR has urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to such scams.

প্রতিরক্ষা সচিব মো. আশরাফ উদ্দিনের ছবি ও সরকারি পরিচয় অপব্যবহার করে প্রতারণামূলক কার্যক্রম চালানোর বিষয়ে সতর্কবার্তা জারি করেছে আন্তবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তর (আইএসপিআর)। শুক্রবার প্রকাশিত আইএসপিআরের এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, সাম্প্রতিক রিপোর্টে জানা গেছে কিছু অসাধু ব্যক্তি ও স্বার্থান্বেষী গোষ্ঠী প্রতিরক্ষা সচিবের ছবি ও পরিচয় ব্যবহার করে একাধিক মোবাইল নম্বর (যার মধ্যে ০১৮৮১৭৪৭৩৪৩-ও রয়েছে) এবং হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ অ্যাকাউন্টের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তি ও প্রতিষ্ঠান থেকে অনৈতিক সুবিধা দাবি করছে। জনসাধারণকে এ ধরনের প্রতারণার শিকার না হতে ও সর্বদা সতর্ক থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়েছে আইএসপিআর।
