Italian delegation pays courtesy call on Army Chief

A delegation led by Undersecretary of State of the Italian Ministry of Defense Matteo Perego di Cremnago paid a courtesy call on the Army Chief at the Army Headquarters today.

During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and discussed various aspects of further strengthening bilateral military cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy.

The Undersecretary of State expressed interest in providing possible assistance to Bangladesh in developing the defense industry capacity of the Italian government. He praised the dedication and professionalism of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping operation and expressed deep condolences and respect for the members of the Bangladesh Army who were martyred in Abyei.

The Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh was also present during the meeting.
