Italy issues new guidelines for student visa applicants

The Italian Embassy in Dhaka has issued new guidelines for those seeking higher education in Italy. The directives were announced through VFS Global, the visa processing agency in Dhaka, on Monday, June 1.

Appointment process: Students already registered on university portals will be contacted by VFS Global via email to schedule their application submission dates. No separate appointment application is required.

Sponsorship: In addition to parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins can now provide financial guarantees. Relatives residing in Italy are also eligible to sponsor students.

Language proficiency: Certificates from globally recognised institutions or universities clearly indicating oral and written comprehension as well as speaking and writing skills are mandatory.

Additional documents: Applicants must submit CIMEA or Declaration of Value as proof of study authenticity.

The deadline for student visa applications for pre-enrolment in universities is October 29.
