'Jabir of Inqilab Mancha shot'

Abdullah Al Jaber, Member Secretary of Inqilab Mancha, was claimed to be shot near Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka.

The organization made the claim in a post on its official Facebook page, stating that Jaber was shot and protesters were forcibly dispersed.

The clash occurred around 4:30pm at Intercontinental Mor, where police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

According to reports, while protesters were trying to move towards the Jamuna, they broke through a police barricade, prompting police to block Inquilab Munch activists. During the confrontation, Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber was reportedly shot by police.

Jaber’s Facebook account also confirmed that hundreds were injured and Jaber was shot. The post urged people to remain calm and avoid gatherings for the time being, adding that they will return to the streets after receiving medical care.
