Jamaat always tried to "attack" BNP whenever it got chances: Rizvi

BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that Jamaat had always tried to "attack" BNP whenever it got any chances.

"Whenever Jamaat got an opportunity, it tried to stab BNP in the back. We have seen this repeatedly," Rizvi said while addressing a gathering in front of BNP's central office in Nayapaltan on Monday.

Referring to Jamaat's political re-entry, he said, "Due to Ziaur Rahman's generosity, those who were banned after 1971 were given the opportunity to engage in politics."

He further accused Jamaat's student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, of infiltrating Chhatra League, now a banned organisation.

"Many Shibir leaders have positioned themselves within Chhatra League and secured posts," he alleged.

"Many call Chhatra Shibir a 'secret Chhatra League.' What will you say about that? We have plenty of evidence, names, and lists to prove it," he added.
