Jamaat chief’s adviser removed over letter to foreign minister
Foreign affairs adviser to Opposition Leader in Parliament and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, has been relieved of his duties after a letter was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs without the consent of Jamaat chief Shafiqur Rahman.
The matter was clarified in a statement issued by the party’s Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar on Tuesday. The clarification came after a media report on the issue was recently published.
In his place, Member of Parliament Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Kasem Arman has been appointed as the new foreign affairs adviser to the opposition leader.
